Junkyard Empire privacy policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
Junkyard Empire ("the game") is made by Brodie Labs ("we"). This policy explains what information the game uses and why.
What the game stores on your device
Your game progress (cash, scrap, parts, upgrades, cars, records and settings) is saved on your phone. It stays there, and you can delete it by uninstalling the game.
Online features (Unity Gaming Services)
The game uses Unity Gaming Services, provided by Unity Technologies, for its online features:
- Anonymous player ID: created automatically so the online features work. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number.
- Leaderboards: your chosen display name and your scores (best shift, biggest car sale, empire value, and your weekly league score and tier), shown to other players.
- Cloud save: a backup copy of your game progress, stored under your player ID.
- Unity account (optional): if you choose to sign in with a Unity account to restore progress on another device, Unity handles that sign-in and your account details under Unity's own privacy policy. The game never sees your password.
- Usage statistics (optional, off unless you agree): anonymous gameplay events, such as shifts played, scores, cars sold and upgrades bought, plus basic device information (model, operating system, country from IP address). These help us improve the game. We ask before collecting any, and you can turn this off at any time in Settings → Share usage stats.

Ads and purchases
- Ads: you can choose to watch an ad for a reward, such as continuing a shift or doubling a shift's cash. After every few shifts, a short full-screen ad may also play between shifts (never during a puzzle, and not in your first shifts). Ads are provided by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies). To show and measure ads, Unity Ads collects your device's advertising ID, basic device information (model, operating system, language, country from IP address) and how you interact with the ad. Ads only appear between shifts or when you choose to watch one.
- Personalised ads (optional): the first time you choose to watch an ad, we ask whether Unity Ads may use this data to show ads that suit you. If you say no, you still get ads and rewards, just not personalised ones. You can change this any time in Settings → Personalised ads. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
- In-app purchase: "No Ads + Free Rewards" is an optional one-time purchase through Google Play that removes the between-shift ads and gives every ad reward without watching. Google handles the payment; we never see your card details. We only receive confirmation that you own the purchase, so it can be restored on a new phone.

What we don't do
- We don't sell your information.
- We don't collect your contacts, photos, precise location or messages.
- There are no banner ads, and no ads ever appear during a puzzle.
Your choices and deleting your data
- Usage statistics: Settings → Share usage stats (on/off). Settings → Delete my stats asks Unity to delete the statistics collected from your device.
- Online account and cloud data: Settings → Delete account deletes your cloud save, leaderboard entries and account link. Progress on your phone is kept.
- Everything else: uninstalling the game deletes all data stored on your phone.
- Other requests: you can also email us to ask for deletion or for a copy of your data: labsbrodie@gmail.com.
How to delete your account
- In the game, open Settings → Delete account and confirm. This deletes your online account, cloud save and leaderboard entries straight away.
- Or email labsbrodie@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Junkyard Empire account" and your in-game name (shown in Leaderboard). We delete the account and its online data within 30 days and reply to confirm.
Progress saved on your phone stays until you uninstall the game.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the game.
